Founded in Macon, GA in 1921, Pilot International has been dedicated to serve for almost a century. Originally designed as a volunteer service organization for business and professional women, Pilot International has since expanded to include men and women from around the globe and in all walks of life.
Pilot International focuses on Brain Safety and Fitness - serving those with Traumatic Brain Injuries, providing "pick me ups" for caregivers, and teaching children about preventing brain injury through the signature BrainMinders program. Pilot International also encourages and provides opportunities for Youth Development & Leadership around the globe.
Pilot Club of the Twin Cities is part of the Pilot International organization.
Chartered in 1980 by the Pilot Club of Monroe, Louisiana, the Pilot Club of the Twin Cities has long been known for its service throughout Monroe, West Monroe and Ouachita Parish.
Pilot Club of the Twin Cities is proud Adopt a School sponsor of Riverbend Elementary and Lakeshore Elementary Schools. In addition to providing school supplies, we provide back to school shopping sprees for students in need each year. Pilot Club of the Twin Cities is also proud to recognize a Special Ed Teacher of the Year. In addition, we provide scholarships and mentoring to young women through the Miss Taste of the Twin Cities/Miss Heart of Pilot pageant preliminaries to the Miss Louisiana pageant.
Each year, in partnership with ARCO, Twin City Pilots provide Christmas gifts for a local family in need. We provide games and puzzles to the Veteran's Home and local Alzheimer's units, visit with residents, and provide monthly birthday cards to Veterans. Pilot Club members also participate in the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk and American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
Together with other Pilot Clubs throughout Louisiana, Pilot Club of the Twin Cities holds a weekend camp for survivors of Traumatic Brain Injuries and their caregivers each spring.
To serve by furthering Pilot International's humanitarian efforts through charitable, educational, and research programs in communities throughout the world.
